Trauma-Informed
Missionary Care
Whatever it is, how you tell your story -to yourself and others- can make all the difference.
We have quite a story to tell. But so do you. Your story, your life, events that shaped you. What’s your story? Really, we would like to hear it. We would like to hear about the things that you celebrate. The things you’d rather not re-live. We know how that feels. Over time we have learned that you don’t have to go through change and challenges alone. Benefit from the connection with someone who cares.
What is Missionary Care?
Here are a few things that might sound familiar to you:
Asking the tough questions when an assignment goes south
At the beginning everyone is excited. Things are going smooth. But then…
Is it time to step back and re-evaluate? Is it time to call it quits on a project? Or is it just time to take a breather and then work with perseverance?
When you set out to fulfill your calling but come back doubting
We know how it feels to doubt your calling. When you ask the question: Was I wrong?
Let’s sit down together and talk. What are you designed to do? Who are you created to be? And how can your talent align with your calling?
Evaluating your next steps after you have seen the world
You have seen the world - quite literally. But now comes the change.
Re-entry to your home culture can be tricky. Things have changed at home. New paths need to be walked. And you ask: Now what?
Finding solutions when working together seems impossible
Relationships can be challenging. And working together seems impossible.
Sometimes the situation calls for an outside source to help you find common ground. Find solutions to seemingly unsolvable conflict.
Setting new goals after you have achieved some pretty cool Things
You have set out to achieve much. And you have. Congratulations!
Now it is time to set new goals, set new action steps, take the initiative to move forward with confidence. Let us help you plan the next steps.
Sharing your story -good, bad, and ugly- and learning from it
Your story is unique to you and you alone know the amazing details.
Tell your story so that someone can learn from it. Highs and lows. Challenges and celebrations. And even if it is just you who is learning from it.

Some of Our Services

Let’s face it: Life sometimes is tough. Add to that the cross-cultural challenge, relational differences, or leadership responsibilities, and it can become an overwhelming task. This is not new to us, and no news at all.
We would love to come alongside you, evaluate your current mental health, and see if some life adjustments might put you in a better position to cope with life’s difficulties. Sometimes, it is as simple as organizing a few things, and sometimes it requires serious conversations. Whatever it is, we have learned (the hard way) that it is always better to do it with someone to help you.

Peace in a relationship doesn’t come easy and sometimes requires some help. Whether it is a business relationship, personal, strife within the board of directors, or a full-blown conflict doesn't matter. Add to that cross-cultural differences, and you will have a very explosive situation.
Mediation is a way to defuse such situations by learning to listen to both sides, together finding solutions and establishing a plan that will not only defuse but restore relationships. And yes, it is possible. Let us help.

Many of us have heard two words about it, but few of us want to experience it. Yes, even the word sabbatical. Mainly because a sabbatical is usually associated with a person in dire need of rest and restoration.
Burnout. Depression. Sabbatical. We have been there, and we have gone through it. Let us come into your situation and see how we can help you. Let us evaluate your current state, help you set up a sabbatical, and together regain strength. It is possible. But alone, you will most likely not be able to do it. Don’t try to pull yourself up on your own bootstraps. Accept help!

Now, how is this different from the other two bullet points above? Good question.
We have learned that sometimes you just need someone to talk to. And preferably not someone who you report to. This is why we want to make it a point to listen to you. If you are in central Pennsylvania, let’s talk in person. If you are further away we can Zoom. This works well also for people overseas.
We invite you to connect with us over a coffee (or any beverage of your choice) and let’s talk.
